My Approach
Julie Ann Helm is a Certified Life Coach (C.L.C.). She is certified to provide The Life Purpose Institute Coaching Process© (also called the Life Purpose Process), which was created by the Life Purpose Institute. This process has been successfully utilized since 1984 with over one million people worldwide.
Self-Awareness
Some call it the Socratic Method, others call it Evocative Questioning. The process I use first involves active listening to really hear and understand what you are saying. Then I ask powerful questions to get you to think deeply about who you are, what you want, and how you could best move forward to reach your goals in the most efficient way possible.
Practical Action Steps
You will learn to make well-defined goals in a way that that is easily adjustable to your own particular needs. You will develop the roadmap and I will be your guide along the way, supporting you to design goals that you select for yourself. This technique is based on the idea that you know yourself the best and I am there to provide support to help you stay aligned to your true values and goals. I have a variety of worksheets available to help you design and follow-through on your goals.
Positive Regard
What is positive regard? In one word, I would say it boils down to “acceptance.” I accept each of my clients for who they are, and where they are at in their lives. I believe it is paramount to establishing a good coaching relationship, where you know that if you share a set-back that I will not judge you, but rather help guide you back on track.
Accountability
After you create your goals during our sessions, I will be checking in each session to ask if you were able to follow through on your goals. If you were unable to, we can discuss what obstacles you faced, and how you could best proceed to overcome these obstacles. Clients tell me my non-judgemental, calm, and caring approach has helped them to feel comfortable to share honestly the challenges they face along the way. Being honest with yourself is key. Once you are honest with yourself you can learn to create more realistic and achievable goals. You will begin to feel empowered with each realistic goal you complete, which helps to create the momentum to achieve more goals.
